Watch the Recording: “Agentforce Meets SAP”
Our webinar for the launch of the Overcast-support for Agentforce was a big success. Here is the recording:
The following is a short summary of the webinar. The webinar was hosted by Jim Williams, who leads pre-sales solutions consultants for Salesforce MuleSoft in enterprise manufacturing and Alexander Ilg, VP Product Management at Vigience, who used to work 20+ years in the SAP ecosystem.
Agentforce: Revolutionizing AI in the Front Office
Jim Williams explained that Salesforce has been involved in AI for over a decade, starting with Einstein, which focused on predictive AI. Einstein currently makes two trillion predictions every week for customers, enhancing productivity and potential. With the advent of generative AI, Salesforce introduced Agentforce, representing the third wave of AI, moving beyond predictive analytics and conversational copilots to autonomous agents.
Agentforce is designed to be an integral part of teams, capable of operating independently, anticipating needs, planning, and executing tasks with minimal human intervention. It can automate entire workflows, make decisions, and adapt to new information without human input. Agentforce is integrated across all Salesforce clouds, including sales, service, marketing, and commerce.
Challenges and Solutions in AI Integration
Jim highlighted that integrating AI into corporate environments requires addressing data access, security, and reliability. Agentforce ensures secure access to data, maintains data protection, and provides transparent and reliable results. By unifying data through Data Cloud and MuleSoft, Agentforce can understand and act upon structured and unstructured data across various systems.
Vigience Overcast: Bridging Salesforce and SAP
Alexander introduced Vigience Overcast, a managed package that facilitates seamless integration between Salesforce and SAP without the need for custom development or significant SAP projects. Overcast utilizes over 30,000 SAP standard APIs, allowing real-time access to SAP data directly within Salesforce.
Key features of Overcast include:

- Create SAP sales orders from Salesforce without switching systems.
- Access real-time pricing and availability information.
- Utilize Overcast’s metadata-driven configuration to adjust components without writing code.
Agentforce Meets SAP
The integration of Agentforce with Vigience Overcast allows AI agents to interact with SAP data, enhancing their capabilities. Key points discussed:
- Topics, Instructions, and Actions: Agentforce uses these building blocks to define agent behavior, allowing customization based on business needs.
